The house is located in an expansion area on Jaén west, with semi-detached single-family houses. The 7.30 m facade and the 25 m plot depth determine the house configuration.
The facade facing the public road is shown in a checkerboard style with a combination of flat surfaces and flared openings. Pedestrian and road accesses are resolved with ramps, avoiding the steps typical of these house typologies. An english patio located in the facade setback introduces light and ventilation into the semi-basement room.
The rear facade is conceived as a projecting volume over the ground floor, continuing with the flared openings criterion of the main facade and generating a living porch at the patio level. The pool with waterfall is located as a backdrop to the patio, taking up the entire width and avoiding shadows from the house.
The living area is located on the ground floor and it’s connected to the porch, patio and pool through a large window, while the night area is located on the first floor with a double height over the living area and a connecting gallery between bedrooms and secondary bathroom. A central patio at this level allows lighting and ventilating and avoids creating blind rooms.
Another aspect to highlight in this project are the lofts located under the house roof that are linked to the bedrooms of the lower floor, generating spacious rooms with very attractive spatial relationships between these two levels.
