BARRIONUEVO HOUSE

Located in the Torres town central area, a 4 floors house is proposed on a corner plot that borders two streets and a square, which give it great visibility and presence in that part of the town. The plot complex geometry and the level difference between the two bordering streets determine the house implementation.

The gaps facade composition and the roof morphology establish a balanced dialogue with the traditional surrounding architecture because it`s located in a BIC environment due to the proximity of the Marquis of Camarasa Palace. The central patio with its celindo tree, which is the original one of the house that was demolished, works like a light well and an outdoor space for enjoyment.

On the ground floor, the main day rooms are located around the central patio, such as the kitchen, dining room, living room and a cellar excavated as an easement under the adjacent building. The first and second floors house contains the night areas, and the attic floor takes importance for its leisure area with a living room and heated pool, in direct relation to a terrace located in the corner of the plot, where you can enjoy of excellent views of the surrounding mountains and Santo Domingo de Guzmán hermitage.

Stand out the visual and spatial continuity between the different house floors, with double and triple heights illuminated through the facades, central patio and upper terrace, connected through a combination of straight and spiral staircases that are inserted as sculptures due to their materiality and rotundity.
